So as I said in a previous post, I picked up a new foundation from Catrice Cosmetics to try out. I have been wearing it everyday I wear makeup for the past few weeks to get an honest opinion of my thoughts for you all.
Just to give a little background of my skin type for you all, I have combination/oily skin that can get quite oily throughout the day, depending on the foundation. I also have the tendency to break out if the foundation has a lot of oils in it. I realised quite quickly that I can’t use any Nivea products as they always break me out because of the oils that are in the products. So if you your skin type is similar to mine then you might find this review very helpful! So lets get started…
First off, for the packaging I am a big fan. It is clean and sleek and simple and the pump does the job it needs to so what is not to like about it. The foundation is a matte foundation, I always tend to gravitate towards matte foundations although sometimes they don’t sit right as they just sit on the skin and make it look like there is just a layer lying on the skin rather than sinking into the skin and looking natural but thankfully this foundation does sink into the skin really well to give a natural blended complexion.
I wouldn’t say that the foundation is full coverage but it is definitely medium and can be built up to full coverage if desired. The foundation also claims to last 24 hours. Personally, the longest I have worn the foundation is 14 hours and it did last really well for that length of time. I was a bit oily on my T zone but nothing that was greasy looking or really noticeable.
The foundation only comes in three shades, which isn’t very good for people who have darker skin tones. As I am so pale I usually never find many shades in the drugstore that are light enough for me but this foundation surprised me when it was the perfect shade for my paleness. So I guess its a good thing for people who find it hard to get paler foundations, they did have us in mind.
Overall I really like this foundation, I think I even like it as much as my favourite L’Oreal Infallible foundation. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a new affordable foundation for oily skin, although if you don’t have combination to oily skin then I would probably skip this foundation as it will most likely extenuate the dryness.
So that’s it for todays post. Let me know in the comments what your favourite drugstore foundation is.See you in my next post.
