Hair-care Routine, Products I Love..

Hello Everyone,

I have never written a hair care post which I am really surprised with as I have a routine that I like but more importantly I would love to hear from all of you, what your favourite hair care products are. I’ve been using all these products for quite a while now as I find that they just work for me. Also before I start, if you are wondering why there isn’t a heat protectant in here, that is because since May, I have stopped using heat on my hair, so I very rarely use it but of course when I heat my hair I do. So lets see what I use…

Shampoo is the base of everyone’s hair care routine and finding the right shampoo for you is so important! I have honestly tried so many but I always come back to the same one all the time! It may seem unusual but if you have oily hair and finding yourself needing to wash it all the time, then definitely check the Head & Shoulders Citrus Breeze shampoo out as it is amazing at keeping my hair tamed and less oily. I also always get compliments on the scent of my hair due to this shampoo, so it’s a win win really!

Hair Mask

When I was younger I never used to use hair masks but was always intrigued to try them. When I began to put heat on my hair more and more growing up, I thought it was a good idea to start. I like to use this mask once a week usually on the weekend when I have more time. I started using this when I went through a phase of having really sore roots and it really helped to sooth them. I love how smooth it leaves my hair too.

Once I am out of the shower and have dried my hair a bit with my towel I love to brush it out with my Tangle Teezer. I know a lot of people say that it’s not good to brush your hair when it’s wet but I find it a lot easier to brush my hair when it’s wet, other wise it tends to be quite painful as my hair is naturally knotty because of the curls and waves in my hair. I love this brush, it’s definitely my favourite brush for my thick hair as it really gets all the hairs and makes sure there are no knots left, it doesn’t miss parts which I find happens a lot with brushing your hair when its thick.

Leave In Conditioner

As I have oily hair, I don’t like to apply conditioner to my hair in the shower as it causes my hair to become oily quicker, what I love using is the Aussie Miracle Leave In Conditioner. It smells amazing and leaves my hair feeling so smooth and soft, it also helps my hair from tangling up as easy.

Hair Oil

Having oily hair doesn’t mean you have to stay clear of oils, I love using this L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil. I apply it to my hair when it is damp and allow my hair to dry naturally, this oil stops my hair getting frizzy, as one thing I really struggle with is frizzy hair, especially in the summer time when the weather is hot but also humid. When I do use this oil I make sure to apply it from middle to ends of my hair as the roots of my hair have enough natural oils, I don’t want to add any more.

So that is everything that I love to use for my hair routine. If you guys would like a skincare routine let me know in the comments, also let me know what your favourite products to use on your hair are! See you in my next post.

Thank you for reading,

Great post! I don’t use hair masks but recently have become very interested in them, I’ve heard loads of good reviews and people say how they helped their hair. I agree with the tangle teezer, I love mine so much! My boyfriend did too so I had to buy him his own! 🙂 X

What a wonderful post! Hair care is definitely something I need to spend more time on. I loathe washing my hair so it just kind of makes everything else seem really daunting. lol. But I’m working on it! Thank you so much for sharing! xoxo

I used to always feel that way as well, it takes so long to wash my hair and for it to dry so these steps are so quick to do as Im still a little lazy with it haha, no problem, glad you liked it! 🙂

I’m glad I’m not alone in the dreaded hair care world! Long, thick hair is a nightmare to wash and dry…but I guess I should just be grateful that I have all this hair to begin with! xoxo

I truly think hair masks make such a difference in my hair. I love doing a mask and letting it sit for a couple hours, sometimes I like to add a couple drops of caster oil into the mask just to stimulate hair growth. I think a lot of times people are really concerned with skin care and become lax with how important it is to take care of our hair too!

    GREAT post.
    Stop by my page sometime.
    xo, Courtney.

Yeah I completely agree, everyone focuses on the skin but keeping your hair healthy is so important too! Thank you! 🙂

I struggle with frizzy hair as well. I’ve been using WEN lately, but sometimes I just want a shampoo! I will use a conditioner afterward but very little as my hair tends to get oily very easily. I’ve never use a mask, but considering I have frizzy hair, I probably should! Thanks for the post!

    • August 5, 2017 / 6:29 pm

Yeah definitely try a hair mask as they have really helped me with frizzy hair!😊
