I’ve recently written a post about growing your blog and some tips that I have learned along the way so today, I thought that I would talk a bit more in detail about the social media channels that I mentioned in that post.
There are so many different social media channels and platforms that you can be on as a blogger but growing your follower count on each of those can be difficult. The only good thing about it is they all take a similar approach when trying to gain followers. Here are a few things, I’ve learned.
Tag Retweet Accounts
Retweet accounts on Twitter will be your best friend when you are starting out. Make sure that you take advantage of all the retweet accounts, as this is what will get your posts out there for others to see, They are also great for when you have published a new post. It’s a great way for it to get more attraction. my favourites to use are #bloggerstribe and #GRLPOWR. They never fail to help out and retweet a tweet to help it gain more coverage, for small accounts.
Use The Right Hashtags
When uploading a picture to instagram, it has become harder and harder to get noticed or even gain any attention from other users. Hashtags became even more important when the algorithms where changed. So now more than ever it is so important to take note of the hashtags that work and the ones that don’t. It can be different for different people. If instagram finds that you use a certain hashtag a lot, they may shadow ban you. This means that any of your posts with that hashtag won’t be seen when the hashtag is searched. The only time they will be seen is when people see your posts in their feed or on your profile page itself. This means that you won’t get a lot of engagement, if any so it’s something to keep in mind.
Connect With Other Bloggers
One of the most important things on any social media that you are on as a blogger is to connect with others. it may be a daunting task to start doing but once you start, you actually gain some online friends out of it! When I started, I would follow peoples content that I really liked. It doesn’t matter if they don’t follow back, that shouldn’t be the reason why you follow people. If you see a post that you like, comment on it and let them know! Get into conversations and get to know some bloggers, not only is it great to get to know them but it also helps your account be seen more, as their followers will see your tweet too.
Take Part In Blogger Chats
On Twitter, there are certain nights of the week that there are blogger chats, each week the chat will be about a different topic and whoever is hosting the chat that week will ask a series of questions that all of the people who want to join the chat will answer and chat! It’s a great concept for getting your account out there while also mixing in with other bloggers and getting to know more people. This is one thing that I want to work on. I always go on Twitter and I’m after missing the chat. 😛
I’m guessing you know this one well by now but if not. Being consistent and posting regularly is so important! You will find it very hard to get your posts out there if you are only posting one tweet a day or week. That’s where scheduling apps come in handy. My favourite to use for Twitter is the Buffer app. This app allows you to write all the tweet you want to upload in a certain day and at what time you want them to. It means that you don’t have to be on your phone all day, you can have it all written and ready to go!
So they are all my tips on how to grow your social media accounts naturally without paying for follows, as no one likes people who pay for followers! haha, I hope you all liked this post. Let me now if you have any extra tips that I might have missed and also what your thoughts are on this post. See you in my next post!
