Out With Foundation & In With the BB Cream- Review

I feel a bit backwards, its usually in the summer when the weather is super hot and you feel all cakey wearing foundation in the heat as its either clogging your pores or running down your face! But for me, I’ve really gone off foundation for the last couple of months. I never really wear it in the summer anyway, I usually just pop on concealer and I’m good to go but this Autumn/Winter I’ve decided to shop around for alternatives that will feel lighter on my skin.

Thats when I discovered the Garnier BB Cream. I had heard of this before and I’m sure a lot of you have too but it’s been a long time since I’ve heard anyone even mention a BB cream, let alone anyone who is swapping out their foundation to use one.

As you all know, I’m super pale, like ridiculously pale! And even though I did pick up the light shade in this BB Cream, its still way too dark for me so I do have to add lightening drops to it just to help lighten it to my skin tone so that everything matches.

I also picked up the version that is suitable for combination/oily skin but I will say that if I didn’t wear a primer and powder this BB cream, there is no way that it would last on me all day. As a matter of fact, I don’t even think it would last on me for a few hours but that is the same with a lot of foundations too and if you’ve oily skin you’ll understand my struggle. So the fact that it needs to be paired with a primer and powder doesn’t bother me. And if you don’t have oily skin, its not something that you will have to think about as this product gives an amazing glow!

As for coverage. It is definitely light coverage, which is completely expected from a BB cream, it doesn’t claim to be anything more than a tinted moisturizer really so don’t be expecting it to cover over everything. With that being said, I’ve suffered from red pigmentation on my skin from acne scars and this BB cream covers them up without the need for any concealer. I do still have to apply concealer to my under eyes as nothing seems to completely cover them but overall, I am actually really impressed with the coverage of the BB cream.

As for the price range. It cost €10.50 when I picked it up recently which is pretty much the price of your average drugstore foundation, if not a little not cheaper. Its definitely worth the money and I would recommend you to try it if you are on the look out for a drugstore BB cream.

Overall, if you are on the lookout for a drugstore/reasonably prices BB cream then I would definitely recommend giving this one a go. There’s not much I can really fault it on!

Let me know if you’ve ever tried this BB cream and what your thoughts are, also what other BB creams would you guys recommend? Let me know in the comments! See you in my next post.
